The Interior Lovers

We've got a thing for tiles...

• Sam Grigg and Naomi Scott-Dunne

In our latest episode we discuss all things tile related:  from their earliest use in Egypt, around 4000 BC, and later those clever Egyptians who also invented glazes.  We break down the difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles; analyse which tiles are best for outdoor projects and discuss tiling patterns, lippage, repeats and the tantalising textural world of Zellige tiles.

So, in summary, the timeless, sleek, classic look of a tiled design is difficult to beat and with appropriate maintenance, tiles are extremely resistant to permanent damage and can easily last over 20 years.

Tune into the humble tile with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and hopefully we can help you feel inspired with your next foray into world of tiles.
