The Interior Lovers
Hosted by interior stylist Sam Grigg and interior designer Naomi Scott-Dunne, we discuss anything and everything to do with the home and interiors. We don't always agree on what we like, but are both passionate about good design and helping people to create uniquely creative homes. With a focus on using colour, pattern and a mix and match approach when it comes to designing your home your way. And the fun thing is, that Sam and Naomi have never even met - with Sam living in the UK and Naomi in Denmark.
The Interior Lovers
Trends … the good, the bad and the downright dreadful
In our latest episode, we talk about trends.
They have always existed: historically populations were influenced by royalty and the wealthy and their style filtered down. Even Napoleon was an influencer - who knew! We touch on how trends can inflate one’s expectations only for them to be quickly disillusioned. Basically avoid blindly buying into a trend simply because it's a “trend”.
We chat about the “foodification of colour”, recent interior trends and of course we touch on vintage and the importance of discovering one’s own true style. We emphasise how there is so much experimentation and risk taking to be done in order to find one’s own unique style. No-one can predict the future life of your home, only you can do that.
So whether you are a trend contrarian, or welcome them with open arms, cosy up with a favourite cuppa and tune into our take on the good, the bad and the ugly of interior trends.
